ASSESSING THE INFLUENCE OF INTERNAL PUBLIC RELATIONS ON NATIONAL ORIENTATION AGENCY’S EMPLOYEES PERFORMANCE

Abstract
This study assesses the influence of internal public relations on the performance of employees at the National Orientation Agency. The primary aim is to evaluate how internal public relations practices affect employee productivity and morale. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews to gather data from National Orientation Agency’s employees regarding their perceptions of internal public relations and its impact on their work performance. The target population for this study were employees of the agency at the headquarters office. A census sampling technique was employed to ensure representation from different departments. The sample size for this study is 320 respondents, and a total of 317 responses were collated. This study employed behavioural and management theory of communication. Results of the findings indicates a significant positive correlation between effective internal public relations and enhanced employee performance. The employees outrightly expressed and reported that a clear communication from the management fosters a sense of belonging and alignment with organizational goals, which leads to a higher and increased motivation, engagement and productivity when internal communication was clear and consistent. This study concludes that, internal public relations significantly influence employee performance by promoting clear, transparent, and consistent communication. Based on the findings from this study, the study recommended that the agency prioritize enhanced digital communication platforms, management should maintain openness about organizational changes and decisions.
